The Longwood Village Inn is the centerpiece of the Longwood Historic District. Opened as the Waltham Hotel in 1885, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is also purported to be haunted and is has been recognized by the National Registry of Haunted Places.
Legend has it the Longwood Village Inn has been haunted since April 1923 when owner George Clark had a fatal accident in the rear of the hotel while hosting an ice cream social. Since that time, there have been numerous accounts of unexplained shadows and voices, doors opening and closing, cold spots and sightings of children.
Building Manager Lenny Layland, broker-owner of Investorlando Realty, which is headquartered at the Inn, says ghost hunters have asked to investigate paranormal activity in the former hotel eight times over the past three years.
The Inn has been recently updated and transformed into an office building that provides a unique and inviting atmosphere for business. There are many attorneys and other professionals, along with a variety of other businesses that call the building home. The Inn is located across the highway from the new Longwood Communter Rail station, coming in 2013. This new transportation hub will make the Longwood Village Inn an even more integral part of the Longwood landscape.
Offices start at only $300/month and range from 132-square-foot executive suites to multi-office suites of more than 2,000 square feet.
